Your privacy is the foundation of this work, not an afterthought. This page explains, in plain language, what information is collected through this website, how it's used, and the confidentiality protections that apply to any clinical relationship formed with David Day, LMFT.
Confidentiality of clinical information
Anything you share in session, or through the confidential consultation form on this site, is protected under California law (including California Civil Code §56 and the Business and Professions Code provisions governing licensed marriage and family therapists) and, where applicable, HIPAA. Records are kept secure and are not disclosed to any third party without your written authorization, except as described below.
Limits of confidentiality
California law requires disclosure in narrow, specific circumstances: suspected abuse of a child, elder, or dependent adult; a credible, imminent threat of serious harm to an identifiable person; a genuine risk of suicide; or a valid court order. These exceptions are explained in full, and discussed directly, before any clinical work begins.
Website and form data
Information submitted through the confidential consultation form — your name, contact details, and anything you choose to share about what's going on — is used solely to respond to your inquiry and, if you become a client, to begin your clinical record. It is never sold, rented, or shared with advertisers. As this practice grows, inquiry information may be stored in a secure client relationship or scheduling system used to manage outreach and appointments; any such system is selected for its privacy and security safeguards, and access is limited to David Day and, where applicable, a bound administrative team member.
Cookies and analytics
This site may use basic, anonymized analytics to understand how visitors find and use it. No personally identifying information is collected through analytics, and none of it is linked to clinical records.
Your rights as a California resident
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of any sale of personal information.
